WEE-2009: November 13-16, 2009 FoOT hosted a major Work Party outing base-camped out of Cedar Lake Recreation Area near Hodgen, OK. The volunteer crew of 48 completed building 2 new bridges, tons of tread renovation projects (the dirt and rocks were flying), removing the old rotten and installing the new shiny trail signs, blazing where no man has gone before (at least that’s how some of us felt roaming around in the boulder fields without any trail markings), chainsawing Miles 0 to 20, lopping, removing limbs and debris.

EEE was a 3 day Work Party in which one fine group of volunteers came together at Coffee Creek RV Park outside Perryville, AR to help on the eastern end of the OT.  We lopped, dug, sawed, painted blazes, built a bridge, floated across the lake in freezing temps, built three re-route sections of trail and still found time to have fun with our "Friends".  We all left with more trail stories to tell.

While stomping around in the woods with Tom Ferguson of the USFS trying to relocate a particularly troublsome section of trail in Section 7 around Mile 152.8 we stumbled upon the original trail, long abandoned.  The Dreaded FoOT Patrol Trail Crew and other FoOT volunteers were able to restore this section in one day.
