Tales from the Trail
By Kris McMillen, Director of Maintenance for FoOT
Well…. this is a Tale from the Trail of Paperwork:
Hurray, we have a new record-keeper already. Carolyn Shearman is going to take on that position. That was quick. Many thanks to Carolyn. Carolyn, Charles Mullins, and Walter and Becky Thurman, are long time FoOT adopters in Section 8 from Mile 184.8 to 187.4, North Fork Pinnacle spur trail to FR 152. Their section is always in great condition.
Now ….. a Tale of Two Trails:
Larry Ross of the Jessieville/Winona Ranger District informed us today that with the help of Nate Storck’s Boy Scout troop the Lake Sylvia Loop Trail is now blazed in green paint. There’s a small portion of the Ouachita Trail that runs concurrently with the L.S. Loop Trail so if you are out that way, you will see a new green blaze below the OT blue blaze for a short distance. This will also help define the previous confusing OT intersection at where the loop leads to Chinquapin Gap.
