Where in the blue blazes?
We have a winner for the June "Blue Blazes" contest! Sid Wood was the first to guess Big Bear Shelter. There were other correct guesses, but Sid's was the first. Check out the mystery photo for August!
Trails closed in Queen Wilhelmina State Park due to bear activity
July 12, 2010 - There is an article in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette today about the closing of trails in Queen Wilhelmina State Part for several weeks due to bear activity (mama bear and cubs). The Ouachita Trail passes through here and QWSP trail closings will affect hikers on the OT during this period.

To all FoOT Trail Volunteers,
Extra special thank-you goes out to those hardy trail volunteers who braved the heat (and other pests) of summer and went about the maintenance of your adopted section of the Ouachita Trail. Amazing and totally awesome. I can't believe the amount of Trail Maintenance Reports we have seen this summer. Truly inspiring. So the truth comes out that we CAN go into the forest in summer!!!
