Friends of the Ouachita Trail (FoOT), non-profit organization of trail users dedicated to the maintenance and improvement of the Ouachita National Recreation Trail.
The Womble Trail & Friends of the Ouachita Trail (FoOT) In   mid-2017,   FoOT’s   Board   of   Directors   voted   to   take   in   the   Womble   Trail   to go   along   with   the   Ouachita   Trail.      The   mission   of   improving   and   maintaining the OT has been extended to the Womble Trail. The   Womble   Trail   is   the   third   longest   in   Arkansas   39.5   miles.      It   was   originally built   as   part   of   the   Ouachita   Trail   then   became   the   Womble.      On   the   north end   you   actually   hike   1.5   miles   on   the   OT   from   the   Muddy   Creek   Trailhead until   you   reach   the   Womble   intersection   with   the   OT   at   Milemarker   117.2.     The southern terminus is North Fork Lake. The   Womble   has   been   given   Epic   status   by   IMBA   (International   Mountain Biking   Association).      It   is   also   an   excellent   hiking   trail.      Trail   presents   great mountain views and scenery along the Ouachita River. FoOT   primary   focus   has   been   the   Ouachita   Trail   but   is   expanding   its   scope   as possible   to   help   with   other   trails   in   the   Ouachita   Mountains.      FoOT’s   recently established   Legacy   Fund   includes   all   of   the   trails   of   the   Ouachitas   with   focus on the OT. More   trail   means   more   opportunities   for   trail   work.      Please   contact   FoOT   if you   would   like   to   adopt   a   section   of   the   Womble.      FoOT   now   has   260   miles   of trail to maintain, so help is always needed and appreciated. Thanks to all our volunteers and adopters for their effort! Bo Lea FoOT President 501-622-8809 Bolea66@Gmail.com
